President's Message

West Virginia is looking forward to being your host for the 67th Annual Meeting of the Association of Southern, Feed, Fertilizer and Pesticide Control Officials (ASFFPCO).

It is my privilege to extend an invitation to you and others within your organization to attend this meeting.  The purpose of the Association is to promote uniformity in legislation, definitions, standards, rules and regulations governing the enforcement of laws relating to the manufacture, sale and use of pesticides, fertilizers and feed.  This meeting has become a place for control officials, industry representatives, chemists and inspectors to discuss the many issues that have an impact on our states.

Please mark your calendars and make plans to join us in Charleston, West Virginia at the Marriott-Charleston Town Center on June 21-24, 2009.  Your reservations can be made by contacting the hotel directly at 304-345-6500 or 1-800-228-9290 and referencing the West Virginia Dept. of Agriculture for group rates.  Room rates will be $99.00 per night single/double/triple/quad.  There is also a $9/night hotel parking fee.  The cut off date for making guaranteed hotel reservations is June 1, 2009.   

The meeting registration fee is $200.00 per registrant paid on or before May 21, 2009.  Registrations received after May 21, 2009 will be $225.00. 

The West Virginia meeting coordinators are currently considering the idea of providing child care for attendees during both the meeting times and the evening activities.  In order to assist them with their planning, please contact Herma Johnson or Chad Linton at 304-558-2227, emails hjohnson@ag.state.wv.us or clinton@ag.state.wv.us if this would be of interest to you.  This service will be dependent upon the number of interested attendees.
